This past week, Peter and I celebrated our 27th anniversary with two nights away in Mystic, CT. We are BIG fans of short vacations close to home, and Mystic did not disappoint!

Penny returned from a five-day program at Villanova, and she is only more convinced that a residential college program is in her future. She worked on applications for most of the train ride home.

And on Saturday, we threw a family party to celebrate William’s graduation. It was all lovely. We played Bingo with 25 squares, with prompts like, “find someone who has driven a backhoe with William…” “held William when he was in the hospital after he was first born…” “knows where William had stitches and why…” We gave him a photo album of over 400 pictures from these past 18 years. Penny offered a toast and Peter led us in a blessing from John O’Donohue, and my dad interrupted to ask that we all place our hands on William or each other to send him out into a good future. I’m so grateful we get to celebrate these milestones together.
