Mamma Mia on Broadway

Penny and her friend Rachel have had a regular Saturday night “watch party” since they were both stuck at home during Covid. There’s a good chance those watch parties started with Mamma Mia, and they have certainly included that movie a gazillion times in the past five years. On Friday night, we got to watch the show for the first time live—and on Broadway no less!

Now, let’s be clear that I am not someone who typically dresses up, for anything. Nor do I dance. Fun is not my middle name. Which only made it all the more delightful to experience this evening with Penny and Rachel.

Sparkles. Purple floral dresses. Hot pink shirts. And these two beautiful young ladies enjoying each other, the music, and—most of all—the three numbers at the very end where they led the dancing in the aisle!
