“This workshop has been so transformational for me and my family. I wish that we had encountered this information so much earlier in our journey with disability. It is truly reshaping how I think about disability and more importantly, how I relate to and love my child.”

“I am so delighted to be participating in your workshop. I feel like I spend a lot of time worrying about whether or not I am doing enough for my daughter and feeling inadequate in the face of her needs. Somehow, widening the lens to consider the underpinnings of how I have come to perceive disability felt expansive.”

FAQs

The cost is $24 per participant/couple. The facilitator purchases the group curriculum, with the price determined by the number of participants. For example, if 3 couples and 2 individuals (one of whom is the facilitator) wanted to go through the group workshop, the total cost would be $120.

The facilitator collects payment directly from the participants for their registration. Some groups choose to charge participants more than $24 to cover other expenses, such as food/snacks, childcare, facility rental, etc. Other organizations purchase the group curriculum and provide the workshop free of charge to the group participants, with the organization absorbing the cost.

Look for other parents/caregivers in your community who are willing to meet together regularly for four sessions. The group can be as small or large as you like.

Set a time to meet. We recommend 4 sessions of 60-90 minutes each, with a follow up session one month later.

The facilitator guide that comes with your registration offers practical tips for facilitating each session.

We are not asking for people to go through any training or meet any particular qualifications in order to be a group leader at this time. Your role would be to convene a group that would benefit from the material and just provide a time and space to discuss the material together. The facilitator guide that comes with your registration offers practical tips for facilitating each session. That said, if you have particular questions about how to go about it, I’m very open to offering my thoughts, so please feel free to reach out
